Today marks the 14th day of power restoration activities of our Unsung Heroes of SAMELCO II- our Warriors of Light and Task Force contingents who have been sent to Bicol region through Power Restoration and Rapid Deployment (PRRD) on November 3, 2020 to help our co-Electric Cooperatives (ECs) in the said region in the restoration of power services after the onslaught of Typhoon #RollyPH on November 1. As they mark its 14th day today of power restoration activities in the said region, our SAMELCO II Warriors of Light- PRRD Task Force contingents together with the other Warriors from Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ESAMELCO) and Leyte IV Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LEYECO IV) continue their commitment in helping the affected Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) in Polangui down to Libon, Albay as their areas of assignment.They are currently restoring leaning and toppled down 45-footer poles with different structures, and replacement of cross arms, from Polangui to Libon, Albay under Polangui and Albay Substations.According to Engr. Odilio Pedraza, Area Engineer of SAMELCO II, and Team Leader of SAMELCO II Task Force Contingents in Bicol said that on their 12th day (November 16) they were able to replace 4 pcs of 45-footer poles with C1, C8 and C14 structures. They have also performed correction and replacement of the cross arms of 2 pcs of 45-footer pole with C14 structure, all of which are only a few of the 125 pcs of 45-footer poles that were damaged by the said typhoon in the said region.Our Warriors of Light- the SAMELCO II Linemen as the men behind the restoration of electric power in the said region work for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, day and night. They don’t mind the rains and extreme heat of the sun while at the top of the pole just to fix the damaged poles, cross arms and electrical lines in the said province. They are also sacrificing not seeing their families for the meantime, just to bring back electricity in Albay which were heavily damaged by Typhoon #RollyPH.Keep safe, Warriors of Light!
